Detecting Confusion via Eye-Tracking

Building Since December '25

  • Problem: Online media should adapt to your mental state.

  • Solution: Built eye-tracking glasses that detect when you're confused

    • Designed a size-constrained PCB for the glasses

    • Wrote a pupil finding algorithm

    • Trained an Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) that detects confusion using saccades and eye position

  • Impact/Awards: Building

Computer Vision Models for Tree Risk

Technical Co-Founder of Foliage AI

Former Technical Co-Founder of Foliage AI

  • Problem: The U.S. spends $5b+ a year trimming trees, so they don't fall on power lines. The process is super inefficient.

  • Solution: Built a system that locates at-risk trees

    • Trained CNNs to identify dying trees from Google Street View Images

    • Wrote algorithms to calculate tree height & find power line paths from satellite data

  • Impact: Pilot with national veg. management company.

  • 1st-place in a 30-student accelerator, selected from 400 Stanford undergrads

100x Cheaper Chemical Sensor

Summer Research Project at UMass Chan

  • Problem: Paint and garment workers inhale colorless carcinogens called VOCs (like Benzene)

  • Solution: Engineered chemical dots (polydiacetylenes) that change color to detect VOCs

  • Built an app that interprets the color patterns using Machine Learning (PCA, SVM)

  • Impact/Awards: Grand Award (1st Place) in Category at Regeneron's International Science Fair. Published (1st Author).
